Christmas Lights Recycling Program

I know most of us are not even thinking of christmas yet, being that it is a whole 2 months away? What.. Only 2 months away? What happened to this year? Boy it went by fast.

So christmas is around the corner and in my effort to gear up for it I was stumbling around the internet looking for some interesting sites. In my ventures I stumbled across a pretty interesting program. It was a christmas lights recycling program. Now I thought I had heard of almost all the different types of Recycling Programs that there are out there, but I had never heard of a christmas lights recycling program. So I thought that this would be a very beneficial post for my members.

are one of my favorite things during christmas. They light up and make the block look pretty but I also have had my fair share of difficult times with from putting them up to dealing with broken ones etc.. I really didn’t know what to do with my lights, but now I do. Not only can I recycle my but it also benefits a very good cause. Most of the proceeds from the recycled will go to the marine toys for tots foundation which provides toys to needy children during the holiday season. Now if recycling alone isn’t a good enough reason then this should be the icing on the cake.

Here is the information from the website:

1. Take your old, broken and box them up in as small a box that will accommodate the lights and send them to us at:

Christmas Light Source Recycling Program
1923 6th Avenue
Fort Worth, TX 76110

2. Please include your name, address and email address and we’ll email you a code that will be good for 10% off a single order of (one rebate coupon per household).

3. Then we’ll take the lights, have them recycled and take the proceeds from the recycling and use them to buy books!

4. These books will then be donated to the DFW Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

So! We’ll be able to take that have faithfully lived out their lives and turn them into really great books for Children – Merry Christmas!
