Alternative Energy Sources – Long Overdue Options
Everyone knows about our recent credit crunch, and also our energy crisis as well. Our dependency upon non renewable energy sources is ridiculous. We should have had a plan for this a long time ago, but as with most things we don’t take the time to think about it and plan for it unless it effects us directly. This brings us to the point of this post. Renewable Alternative Energy Sources that have been long overdue.
There are a multitude of options when it comes to renewable alternative energy. There is solar power, wind power, hydro power and even the good old fashioned human power. These alternative energy sources really need to be looked at as a real alternative and a plan of action needs to be taken.
Recently, some scientists have noted that we could harness wind power from the ocean. We can place wind farms in the ocean in geo-targeted locations to help harness the power of ocean wind. It’s clean, it’s pure and it is renewable. This is a viable alternative energy option.
What about solar power? We have had options in solar power for a long time but one of the drawbacks was that the solar paneling were usually quite expensive. Couple that with a long payback period and a cash crunch and you could see why this wasn’t such a great option for most. Cheaper Solar Panels are the way to go. They are made of cheaper materials that don’t reduce the quality of the panels. This is another viable alternative energy solution.
The Key here is that we have not really explored all of the solutions possible nor have we taken the measures to really put into action the type of plan that would make us not so dependent upon fossil fuels or energy that is not clean or renewable. We as a country need to make plans for that and slowly wean ourselves out of this energy problem we have!
